Lion's mane "fish" and chips

1/2lb lion's mane mushroom torn into bite sized pieces
1 cup white flour or chickpea flour
1 tsp dill
1 tsp salt
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 cup milk of your choice
About 4 cups cooking oil for deep frying
Serve with homemade tartar sauce and a slice of lemon along with fresh cut fries and garden salad 🙂
Combine wet and dry ingredients until smooth. Dunk lion's mane pieces into batter and coat thoroughly. Add to the oil only after it has preheated and sizzles if you place a test piece in. Cook at medium heat for about 8 minutes , flipping at the half way point. Toss with salt once you've removed it from the heat.
